The very popular musical series, 'Music in the Landing' has returned for the sixth year providing a summer of free entertainment around Gibsons Landing. With the continued support of the Town of Gibsons, the season will again fill the streets, the parks and hillsides with the sounds of some of the coast's best talent. Fridays, the Gazebo at the end of the Gibsons wharf will again be a popular spot to take in the full experience of the view of the stunning Gibsons Harbour. Boaters of all kinds drift by to hear the music, locals sit out on their decks to take in the sounds of summer and friends and tourists wander down the pier to get up close and personal with friends and musicians.

Lots of first for Film Festival this February

With the festival is a little earlier this year, February 7th - 9th, there is a lot of activity at the new film festival office these days. "Each year we try hard to get the most current films that have been released in the past year," said festival director Jan Padgett. "And this year we have a record number of films that will be shown here in Powell River before they are being released into theatres."
