Experience the Sunshine Coastīs own natural wonder, the Skookumchuck Narrows & Sechelt Rapids, one of the West Coastīs largest saltwater rapids.  Don your walking shoes as you embark on a self-guided trek, on a 4-km (2.5 mi) forested trail into the Skookumchuck Narrows to witness the awesome power and spectacle of these rapids, framed by the backdrop of snow-capped mountains.  On a three-metre tide change, 200 billion gallons of water flows through the Skookumchuck, you want to time your hike so you arrive at the viewpoint when the tidal surge is at its strongest.

Sit back and enjoy a picnic lunch as you view the fascinating rapids and marvel as kayakers play and surf in the waves. This hike is an absolute must!
