Powell River
Steal away to the north and experience the diversity of freshwater lakes behind Powell River on a 5-day canoe and portage trip. The trip starts at Lois Lake and takes you through 8 lakes and 5 portages, covering a total distance of 57km. You can make camp at any one of the 20, well-maintained campsites along the route. Small wooden bridges make for easy crossings at creeks and over swampy ground, and conveniently spaced canoe racks gives you plenty of chances to rest every 4 to 5 minutes.
Take in the tranquil beauty of the forest and lakes that make up this recreational gem. The lakes along the Powell Forest Canoe route are easily accessible by roads, but once on the lakes and in the forest it feels like you´re on remote adventure.
The best time to enjoy the canoe route is from June to October.
